The creation of drawings and paintings:
Most  drawings and paintings were not finished in the same year that I started them. Many of them existed in different stages over 1-5 years.
By looking at my older work from a new perspective, I thought it would be interesting to see in what direction I would take the work now, knowing I could not reproduce it, as my work and ideas had changed significantly. As stated above, most drawings were finished in 2024-2025. Many of them contain some acrylics in this finishing process. The first reason for this was practical, as I started to damage the paper with the numerous layers of pencil lines while to change the drawing again. The second reason was that it gave me the opportunity to bring back some calm and even surfaces (with a brushstroke rather than adding more small pencil lines. On social media, I made a few stories showcasing this growth process, from beginning to end. These stories also allowed me to add some lightheartedness to my work because you should never forget to laugh; art is also (if not mainly) a lot of fun. Since 2024 and 2025 I decided to rework a lot of my work from the last decade. The main reason was that I found much of my work 'allright' or 'good', but not good enough. They could and should be better. The second reason is that the reworking also inspired me to explore new directions. Because I looked with a new perspective at my older work, I thought it would be very interesting to see in what direction I would take the work now. Knowing I could not reproduce it, since my work and ideas had changed a lot.

As stated above, also most drawings were finished in 2024-2025. A lot of them contain some acrylics in this finishing process. The first reason for this was practical, because I started to damage the paper with the numoures layers of pencil lines by trying  to once again change the drawing. The second reason was because it gave me the oppertunity  to bring back some calm and even surfaces (with a brushstroke) rather than adding more small pencillines.

The creation of other work (collage method)
In quite a lot of my paintings/ other work you can find pieces of paper that are glued on there. I use magazines, but mostly older work of my own. For instance my photo's, sketches, drawings and work that I didn't like so much.
A few years ago I also had the idea to take a lot of my work to a copy shop, and make large color-copies. Off course this was not very good quality, but good enough to be able to create new paintings from my own work. This way I could cut up my own work, gain new creation materials and options, without destroying the originals. This gave me a lot of joy.
Inevitable some parts of one  painting also exist in another work.
For instance the work 'Heart of a plant' contains pieces of blue in the background with two identical yellow tulips. They where copied and glued, and the original formed later the base for a painting created in 2025  'Tulips almost gone'.
